My Glam Bag February 2012

Hello beauties!! :) Emily here with this months My Glam Bag! This was the valentine's bag so its super cute pink with black hearts! Adorable!! :)
The first product is the X Out shine control, which is a big problem of mine and I hope this product lives up to its promises. It says it stays flawless and shine free with this oil-free moisturizer with a mattifying complex.

This next product is by NYX and it is the Roll On Shimmer in green. What it is, is a shimmering powder that can be applied to eyes, face and body. For me I can only see myself using this on my eyes, but in swatching this its very cool. By looks it looks like it might be a gel or something but like it says it is in fact a powder. It comes out with great pigmentaion but can be easily blending so its not too bold, unless you want it to be of course lol ;) And yes this is full sized!! :)

The next product is the Premeir Dead Sea Cinderella Mask. It says it is a luxury skincare rich in life-enhancing minerals from the Dead Sea waters. And from what I am told products saying "Dead Sea" are supposed to work really well. So we will see not a big sample but I know this is an expensive product so let's see if I can be won over with one application....

This is a gift certificate for NuMe professional styling tools and hair extensions. And I know what you are thinking if its for $100 how much do the products cost?! And yes some combo pack are very pricey but I saw some hair irons for $115, so for $15 you can't beat it! I will blog once I purchase something and let you know my experience with this company.
This is the Freeman facial mask in goji berry. It says its a soothing spa experience with easy to use skin perfecting mask. And I love doing masks they just feel so pampering so I am super excited about this one! :)

And that was this months My Glam Bag, I am happy with this months selection of products. If you want any reviews on any of these products please let me know and I'd be happy to!!

Wet n Wild Megalast Review....

Hello all!

Let me first off say, I am VERY hard on my hands!  In my line of work I was my hands MILLIONS of times a day... So it is very tough to find a polish that withstands the abuse.  I recently in the past year fell in love with Shellac.. and I can honestly say I am madly, deeply, in love with it.  I can actually end up getting 6 weeks out of a Shellac manicure.  However, I have recently moved and have not unpacked my Shellac gift certificates to the girl I go to, and was in desperate need of some polish before going out for Valentine's Day, so I found this polish at Walgreen's and the price was right.

The polish I am speaking of is the Wet n Wild Megalast in Wet Cement.  This polish promised a lot.  Their display promises 5 days of chip resistant wear, and they had a cute selection of colors.  Apparently, they have a new formula that is supposed to adhere well and have less of an effect on the nail... for the full 411 check out their webpage Wet n Wild Megalast .  What I did really enjoy was their "pro brush".  Many companies have "pro-brushes" and they were cool, far better than old school, traditional nail polish brushes, but they were still not awesome.... I will say the only really awesome thing about the Megalast was its brush.  It was the wider brush, typically penned "pro-brush", but unlike any "pro brush" I had seen before (including those in much pricier brands), this brush had rounded edges...HELLO GENIUS! It was far easier with this brush to "stay within the lines" when painting my nails, including my non-dominant hand with this wider rounded brush.  I will admit that because of the brush I feel the polish went on smoother and easier, but that is where my love affair with the brush ended.....

I painted one coat of the polish, painted another, added a top coat (OPI) and then chose to add two lil gems to each of my ring fingers.  I waited about an hour before doing ANYTHING  (the 4th hour of the Today Show was on anyways...) and then it was 6 hours later before I got ready to go out.  I got a shower and this is where the disappointment began... After shampooing my hair the polish began to peel back... not chip, not crack, no more like roll up on itself... you know how peel off polish from when you were a little girl would do... It was noticeable to me, but nothing tooo crazy, so I didn't fix it before going out.  By half way through the next day though I had notice it pulling back more, and the next day I had full on chips going on....  Needless to say I did not get 5 days of chip resistance out of this polish as advertised... Now I realize they say RESISTANT not proof, but still... I didn't even get ONE day out of it let alone FIVE! And the first day was a cake walk for my nails... they saw no real action.

Below are the timeline of pictures taken throughout my experience with Wet n Wild Megalast...

This is the polish, cute. The bottle was easy to hold.

One coat.

Two coats + OPI top coat.

With added gem stones, because why not?!

After one day..ACK!!

After a week.

<3 & Make Up,

Christina

Birchbox February 2012

My first Birchbox has arrived! I was really looking forward to this one it took a little longer than expected to get here, but that's ok stuff happens sometimes so I understand that. Well lets dive in....

This is how it comes in this brown box, with tissue paper inside it was a pretty silver paper, and then a few item were wrapped up in a gold paper with a pretty ribbon tied around it.
This is what the contents looked like. I am happy with the value and relevance to my interests. The only disappointment was I know some girls got the beauty blender, and if you got one I am jealous!! lol :)

This card comes with each box and tells you the theme of the products for the month. So this month was "Spotlight".

I received two "lifestyle extras" this is the first one which is a card that on the back has the site to retrieve your free 6 songs to download from the indie rock band Green River Ordinance.

The second was this Chuao Chocolatier spicy maya chocopod. It was dark chocolate with Chile and cayenne pepper, and if you can tell from the pic me and my hubby already ate it lol. It was surprisingly very good I might add.

The first beauty item was this Benta Berry G-1 moisturizing face cream. It is supposed to regulate oil levels while keeping the skin matte and moisturized, so I am very interested in this product because this is something I struggle with.

Next was this perfume sample from Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy. And the best thing is this is a little spray bottle which is a nice touch. And it smells amazing, its wild berries, mandarin and soft floral notes.

This item is the blemish clearing serum by Juice Beauty its supposed to take care of blemishes while being organic and not harsh on your skin.

Last but not least this is designer liner by Eye Rock. I am so excited to test these out, I am not very good with liquid liner so these will give me that look and with such an artistic flair too!

Well that is my first Birchbox. I am trying this one out too to see which of the sample services I like the best. And I have found in getting this the liners for example are a product I would have been too shy to spend the money and try out. And now I am going to so it is helping me discover new products that I might not have heard of or have heard of and hadn't wanted to splurge without knowing if it is right for me. So stay tuned there are more reviews to come. If you want to know what I thought about a specific product please let me know and I will be happy to review for you. Thanks ladies!!

Emily

Beauty Army is here!!!

Sorry for the delay everyone! I have been under the weather and have been delayed in posting this blog. Please forgive me lol So here we go...

My Beauty Army Box arrived in the mail.

This is the super cute recycled box it comes in, talk about easy to re purpose!! Its so sleek and pretty this could be used for so many things, jewelry, makeup etc. They also mention no guilt in tossing this in the recycle bin.

Upon opening this is what you get to see super cute packaging, all individually wrapped in pretty pink tissue paper...

First product is the anti-fatigue eye mask kit by Chella, it comes with 2 separate masks for each eye and an eye mask activator.
The next product is the Indie Lee coconut-citrus body scrub, super sweet citrus scent smells wonderful.

The next product is Pssssst! on the go instant dry shampoo, which has such an amazing clean scent to it, I was very impressed with.

The next is the Rose Hips Black Soap by Sheaterra Organics, and I am so intrigued by this product! It claims to be a microdermabrasion in a bottle from an ancient African formula. I plan on putting it on and scaring my kids lol just kidding! :)

The next is the NeoCell micro-resurfacing skin treatment by CellCeuticals biomedical skin treatments, oooooh sounds fancy huh? lol :)

And my last and favorite product I received was this eye shadow by Blingtone in the color Morococo its a nice highlight color for under the brow, or base color for a shimmery look.

So my first review for Beauty Army, I love this service! I felt this was a great value and I enjoy all these samples and I look forward to my next box!! :) If you look below I have a link to their site where you can find out more :)

Wet and Wild - Blazed

Hello beauties! I am writing tonight to review my new polish by Wet and Wild in the shade Blazed. It was a standard sized applicator brush it didn't go on as smoothly as I'd liked the first coat. By once I put on the second coat it seemed to even out a little better. For a top coat I used my current favorite recommended by a fellow beauty guru Mega Shine by Sally Hansen. I like the color so far if I have any issues with longevity I will report back. I don't know what it is about this color but I really like it. I am new to the Wet and Wild nail polish line so I'd love to hear your feedback and experience. But I think I spent either .99 or 1.99 so for the value I am really liking it. Please stayed tuned for more updates and don't forget to tell your friends. Xoxo Emily
